HI, I just bought a sog topo meridian from an ebay store called outdoorgear pros. the knife came new in the box with paperwork...it looks legit..but it feels kind of cheap. especially in the lockback mechinism and the AO lock.
any advice on this seller, or what to look for in a sog fake..

I would think that the design of the topo would make it tough to copy

(update)
so much for that logic,, I just checked a close up of the blade at sogs web site and compared it to mine..mine says topo with meridian under it..sogs says meridian
I guess this is a fake.. unless this is normal

Pics would be a good help. Most of the dedicated knuts here can tell a fake just by looking at it. (It's also possible that you got a lemon. Happens now and then with every knife company.)

I have looked at pictures of the blade at 6 different sog recomended online sellers and have seen four different logo's....is this normal...or is there only one logo for a tini upswept blade topo meridian

Sometimes they change the logo or lettering. I got the Sealpup when they were pretty new and all they had on the blade were "Sealpup Elite". No company name or logo.

Best to post a picture

Post some pics and we'll be able to help you out more. It isn't uncommon for the logo's to change.

We have changed the marking on the Meridian a couple times in the past 4+ years. Photos woudl be helpful in letting you know if it is genuine or fake.

I hope to have pictures posted tonight...still trying to figure out this forums picture system

Just checked out the pictures. Looks to be a genuine version to me. That was the marking we used about two years ago.
