For some time now, I've been in search for a good reasonably priced small multi-purpose fixed blade and have looked at several offerings from several makers, pondering which knife would suit my needs best.
That search came to an end today when I laid eyes upon the SOG Field Pup.

What immediately attracted me to the knife was it's nice satin finish and wonderful blade profile. I was also pleasantly surprised at how good the knife feels in the hand and how well balanced it is. What amazed me even more was the price of the knife considering the quality and workmanship. After just a few moments examining the knife at the store, I knew this knife had to come home with me.

The Field Pup's design is very well thought out and the sheath keeps the knife secure at your side at all times. Personally, I think a solid kydex sheath instead of the kydex/leather combo would be a big improvement, especially if you're out and about in humid conditions. As it is, I find the SOG Field Pup to be excellently crafted and just the right size for a myriad of tasks. It looks and feels like it should cost much more than what it retails for and is definately a must have for all knife users.

Many thanks go to the good folks at SOG for producing yet another excellent knife.

That Field Pup is an under-rated knife! It has great grinds, AUS8 steel, and just feels good in the hand!
