Decided after seeing the name to look up their knives. Been searcing for a fixed blade, small to carry on a daily basis. Not too small though. This one looks like the right one. Matches the handle, and blade type I want. Just a question on the shealth..does it have a clip?

How are these knives? Tough? Can take abuse?
 
damn it, never mind. Wrong shealth.


Can anyone find me a 4-5 inch fixed blade, with a kydex shealth..with a clip..thats tough? A belt loop would be a plus but not a must.

Already down the cold steel, CRKT..no good.

Howdy, the SOG Field Pup is a great knife.:) It's AUS8 steel blade holds a good edge. Have had mine for 2 months and so far, no need to sharpen it. Mine is used quite a bit in the kitchen.:)

The knife comes with a Leather/Kydex Hybrid sheath. IT works good, but does not have a clip. I liked the sheaths shape but wanted it High ride so I just made my own using the factory sheath as a pattern.

Am not sure how well it will take "abuse" cause I'm not sure what you stuff you will trow at it. Mine has handled everything I ask of it quite well. Now, I would not try and chop with it or do any prying, but I believe it will hold up nicely to light prying.

The SOG Field Pup is a great knife. I've had not problems with mine and highly recommend it. It's not heavy on my belt, a very nice size, the handle is quite comfortable and has good grip even when wet.:) Get one, I know you will like it.;):D

Looks like you beat me in posting. Yeah, the sheath may be leather and doesn't have a clip. But don't dismiss it because of the sheath. The MSRP is about $50 and you can find it for less online. So, you could buy one and just have a custom Kydex or leather sheath made with a belt clip. The 2 sheaths I've made for mine all have belt loops, but the next one will most likely have a clip.

(If you can't tell, I like this knife:D)
 
Hey, I just looked at your site, on the SOG section. There is a knife at the botttom of the page, small...with a clip on it. What one is that?
 
That is my SOG Mini Pentagon in an old style Kydex sheath. The new sheath still has the clip but SOG got rid of the HUGE belt loop. I really like the knife. It is dubble edged. One edge is fully serated the other is plain edge. I really like that knife too. Sharp tough and has seen plenty of action. I have used it in the kitchen and also once used the serated side to saw my way through some 2" thick Oak limbs to make walking sticks.:eek::D
