I got an SOG Field Pup on Ebay last week and it arrived today. Nice little knife. I like the size and weight and the handle is great. It's kind of a hollow ground mora. It will make a great general pupose knife. The sheath is the weirdest thing I've ever seen-- leather and Kydex mixed. SOS to Normark!

If SOG would make this knife with a flat ground blade, they would really have something.

They are really under rated knives. Quite useful around a camp or hunting. The sheath should be either all leather (my preference) or all kydex but the design does work pretty well.

It does work just fine, but seems like a lot of trouble to make, not to mention being a little ugly. A deep leather sheath would be fitting for the design of this knife, and I have plans for getting a Kydex rig with a firesteel holder.

I like a lot of SOG's work, but every once in a while they do a design bellyflop, like cutting "SOG" into some handles and their tomahawk. Makes me gag.

The Field Pup is a design that says "cutting tool" without any flakey additions. I only paid $30 for it-- same as a Mora 2000, so I can't complain.

I've heard a lot of good things about this particular knife, as a matter of fact I don't recall ever hearing anything bad....

I'm gradually getting rid of all my stainless knives. I'm down to 3 a Seal 2000 and 2 Seal Pups. I'm going to get rid of the Seal 2000, but I'm going to keep the Seal Pups. They are the perfect knife to leave places you might need a knife -- trunk kit, BOB -- but don't want to have to maintain regularly. They are just an all round nice-handling knife IMO.

SOG does a kick ass job on their AUS-8, and 440A. I just loved my revolver, I can't wait to get that thing back in my hands. :D
