SOG Flash II Blade Play

My SOG Flash II has developed a bit of play in the blade after only about two months of light use. Anyone else come across this?

I e-mailed SOG for info on how to tighten it up, but their response was to send it back for servicing.

Can it be tightened? Or is this a common flaw in the knife?

I have has my SOG Flash II (Zytel handle) for about three months and have been using it quite heavily. I have not noted any blade play problems.

In fact the olny problems I have encountered is that I need to lubricate (and clean) the mech regularly was it get grity which I notice on closing. opening is a "flash" A little WD-40 to clean it followed by some white lighting and everything is right as rain.

If you do have blade play I would send it back to SOG. I hear there are lots of little parts inside that can be a bear to get back together. Best let the experts handle this one.

I did find another thread where it seems that the SOG Flash II's with Zytel handles are having some quality issues, particularly with blade play. Check it out:

However if yours is doing great, glad to hear it! I may try an aluminum handle Flash II, as they appear to be having less or no problems.

Having had both... I kept the aluminum handled one...
That being said, my friend who got the zytel handled one loves it, and carries it daily...
Diffrent strokes, I guess...
