Hey guys I'm new to the sog knives. I picked this knife up today for around $17 and cannot find any info on it. The handle has "sog" in big letters on the side and the other flash II knives have "sog specialty knives" on them.

Are you using the "Go Advanced" button and the "Manage Attachments"?
If the picture won't upload then usually you have to make it smaller.

When i try to upload a pic it just puts

The logo on the both sides of the handle has sog in big letters. Not sure about the "go advance" and "manage attachments" can't seem to find anything that says that

Nope...they only come in half serrated. But they do come in both black and standard finish blades. Here's some samples pictures:

Hey Ron my name is bill. I purchased a sog flash 2 today and am trying to find some info on it. It has the regular finish half serrated blade. The handle just has "SOG" on the sides. It does not have "sog specialty knives" on the sides. Is my knife a fake or what? Sorry for no pics for some reason it will not let me upload pics.

If you are not a paying member you cannot upload photos directly to the site. What you need to do is upload the photo to a image hosting site (like photo bucket or what not). Then, you can use the "insert image" button above to embed you image.

Where did you get this knife? Does it look at all like the ones below?

Ron has not logged in here since 2010. This thread is 11 years old. I answered you in your other thread. Get some photos posted up.

It's similar to the black one but blade release on mine is curved instead of straight.

Okay, that sounds legit. The curved lock release is the newer version of their piston lock. Does it look like the lock realease in the picture of my Aegis below? Again though, the major determining factor on if you got a legit knife is where you got it. Also, pictures would be great. Is there a patent number on the blade?

SOG in big letters? Sounds like a Micron.

Instead of us playing 20-questions, how about going to one of our sponsoring dealers like BladeHQ and look at all the SOG knives they have listed.

I bought it a pawn shop for $17. That's the same lock release add mine and it does have a patent number on the blade.

Yup, that is a legit newer sog flash II. I would say at $17 you got a good deal as long as the condition is good. Some folks around here dont like the flash (or any of the sog assisted folders) because of the handle and the blade play. I dont mind sog assisted folders. I carried a flash II every day for 3 years and it served me well. It was the knife that got me into knives.

Congrats on the find and enjoy.

I had always thought that there was only the little square SOG Specialty Knives logo on the handle,
but thanks to this enquiry post I have now learned that there are handles with just SOG letters.
Glad to see the knife appears legitimate and a hell of a price. Congrats.
