SOG Flash II replacement parts?

I'm missing the short part of the (I think it's called) pivot screw on my knife, and looked everywhere to get a new one to no avail. I honestly have no idea how I lost it either. It probably happened 1+ years ago and lately I've been thinking about it more and more, so I'd actually like to replace the piece (I think other than that 1 piece is still in fine shape, just needs to be sharpened). Anyone know where to get these specific replacement pieces, and are they inexpensive? Thanks.

I tried sending him a message this morning but it looks like it never went through? I'll try again now though, thanks.

I'd strongly recommend you call Sog's customer service directly.

Why wait for e-mails to go back and forth when you can just call now and get it taken care of?

When dealing with any knife companies customer service I've found that calling directly is always the easiest, fastest and in some cases surest way to get thing's done

E-mail doesn't always get answered. I've had that problem with a couple of other manufactures. I send an e-mail, few day's later I get a reply or in some case never get one.

Like I said why wait when you might be able to make one call and get this taken care of today.

Hope all goes well and good luck!

Does it matter if I have the knife registered with SOG? I got the knife about 7 years ago, approx. Also, I'm not 100% sure that the piece that I need is the pivot screw. I'll take a picture of it though.

Yes, that's the pivot screw. I've only had to deal with Sog's CS a couple of times but they were very nice and helpful. I didn't have to resister my knife or produce any receipt. I just sent it in and the second time needed parts and a clip and they just mailed it right out.

call them and see what they say to do.

Best of luck!

Edit to add: If you call make sure to tell them the exact make and model and how long you've had it to make sure they know if they have the right parts on hand to replace / fix.

Okay, I'll check out to find the exact correct model number for a SOG Flash II with the combo-blade, black finish, and BDU patterned body. Thanks. :)

When you call just tell them it's a GOG Flash II but you've had it for 7 years. Just in case it's been updated. Thats all. You have all the info you need to call.

Like I said, hope it all works out for.

I'll give 'em a call on Monday. Thanks for your help, and craytab's help as well.

I found SOG Customer Service to be excellent. I called for the same part and received it within a week along with a complimentary clip.

It should be no cost.

BTW, nice flash II. I have always wanted that handle color/pattern but never pulled the trigger.

Thanks. It was great at the time because it matched my BDU uniform. She's a bit old (and needs to be sharpened) but has been a great EDC for years and years. I'm actually looking at getting a Benchmade 580SBK as my 2nd knife, which would become my new EDC.

Is there any way I can contact the company just to say thanks for the amazing customer service? After taking apart my knife (to clean and lubricate it) before putting in the new pivot screw, I accidently lost this tiny little spring that sits behind a steel bearing for the locking mechanism. I called SOG and they transfered me to the appropriate department, where they said they weren't sure if they could send me the part since opening the knife voids the warranty. They took down my info and said they'd call me back (I gave them my phone number as well) and if I didn't hear back, then the part would be in the mail. Well, I never heard back, and after a week presumed I had been forgotten about, until the other day I got a package in the mail from SOG. Inside was a hand written, in pencil on a Post-It note, sketch showing how they use grease to keep the spring & steel ball in place. Along with the helpful note explanation was the spring, a new steel ball, and a little bit of their grease.

Long story short, this is probably the best service I've ever had with a company period, and I'd like to at least let them know that I'm grateful for their help and tell them they're amazing. :)
