Hey everyone, first post.

I'm looking at getting a SOG Flash II and want to know if the aluminum handle is worth the extra cash over the Zytel handle?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Bladeforums! Welcome to SOG, too (II?)! :D

I just looked up the 2 models and I think that's an awful lot to pay for the aluminum upgrade. My own Flash II is the camo Zytel handle and it is a reliably solid handful. I'm glad I didn't bother with the aluminum myself: I'm very pleased with the one I got.

Although the aluminum handles are expensive, the only problems I have ever heard of in a Flash II have been from Zytel handles.

I've used my old aluminum handled Flash II pretty hard, and it's never failed me, FWIW.

I actually like the Zytel handled flash mo betta :D

Never had a single issue with either, but I EDC my plain edge Zytel model. Best beater EDC knife for the money that I've come along.

Hi there!

I was browsing around looking to replace my zytel handled one that fell out of my pocket (most likely)

And I am debating the purchase of an aluminum handled one because with the zytel I had it backpocket mounted and over time the clip was wiggling left to right "stretching" its mounting hole.

it felt great but I think its time to try the aluminum for an extra 30 bucks. Plus, with the price drop it is still cheaper then when I bought the Zytel!
