Hello everyone,

I have been looking to buy the Flashback mini for a while, but after looking at reviews of the Zoom mini, I kinda hold back the idea of buying the Flashback mini. Which one would you guys prefer and why? Also, should I get Drop or Tanto point? Thanks.

Neither one are the type of knife that fits my needs. I have no experience with either. I do have esperience with SOG SAT knives with the piston lock (Flash Back has it). I can say that knives with this lock have varying amounts of blade play. Whether that is acceptable to you is personal preference. I don't like it. The Zoom has a button lock. I don't have experience with this type of lock so I don't know if it inherently has blade play like SOGs piston lock.

I wouldn't get either honestly. For the money there are better options. If you want a SOG, save up a bit more money and get one made in Seki, Japan like a vulcan or Spec Elite. The steel is better and the lock is far superior. The truth is, SOGs low end knives aren't made as well and cost more than their competitors. This is coming from a SOG fan. If you want something that is comparable to the SOG but for much less money look at the Ontario RAT knives and the Utillitac II. The Esee Zancudo is also superior. About $20 less.

Yeah, I guess I will have to reconsider my decision again. Looking up some 154 CM/VG 10/CPM S30V knives right now, and some of them costs similar to those two knives that I had mentioned...
