Hi, I inherited the SOG folder below. I'd like to know some more information about it - like steel etc.
It has a nylon web sheath with horizontal and vertical loops and has ' Seki Japan' on the blade.

mods will probably send you over to the Sog forum where they can help you better, as I'm not sure that really fits with the traditional subforum, though I think that is a first generation tomcat, I'm not an expert.

Thanks, I'll take it over there.

Edit: It is the 1st iteration of the SOG Tomcat, 440C steel.

I don't see this in the SOG sub-forum yet, so I'll move it there.

Disregard: I saw your other post after I posted to this. Glad you figured it out.

Regards,

Thanks D1, just found a piece on the Tomcat and it seems you're right. Really like this chunk steel.

Why was it sent to SOG? That's a lock back knife with no thumb stud, blade hole, or clip. It should fall right in with a Buck 110 or Buck 112 that appear in the Traditional sub forum all the time. Yes, it's a SOG knife and there is a SOG sub forum but it still has a place in traditionals. Buck has a sub forum so I guess we'll have to start putting Buck knives like the 110 and 112 only in the Buck sub forum.

The pictured knife first came out in the 1986 -1989 time period. They are tough knives.

He was asking for info on the knife. There's a specific sub-forum for SOG aficionados. If he'd just been posting it, without the questions, it would still be in the Traditional forum. Any further comments, take to PM or email please.
