SOG has alot of foldres in the 50 buck range. Are they a great value or are you simply getting what you paid for?

The ergos work for me, very secure in the hand. I like the size and shape of the blade. AUS8 is fine for my uses, a good compromise between edge holding and toughness. I'm not worried about accidentally disengaging the piston lock, you have to pull it back pretty far. It has a tiny bit of side to side play but not enough to worry me. Certainly not enough to be obvious while in use. The clip rides really low. Sometimes I wish it was easier to get to but when it's clipped to the left rear of my cargos it's invisible. The SAT works as well as the AO on my wife's Kershaw Blackout. Overall, a well thought out knife, often overlooked.

Here is another vote for the Flash II. I got one and after playing with it for a night, the next day I bought another one for my dad. My dad is not really into knives, and the flash was a little big. I gave him my blink I was using as a money clip. He says he always has it with him, and he uses it for everything. When he is in the yard working he will carry the flash II. The Flash seems to be very tough. I use mine when I do yard work, and have used it pretty hard. The Flash I Have is a combo blade, and the serrated edge is used to cut through small limbs when a saw is not at hand. It still locks up just as good as the day I got it. It is true the knife does sit loooooooow in the pocket, so to fix it I thought hey a lanyard would help. I go get some 550 paracord and find that the land hole is too small for the PC so I just slid it under the clip and it works great. Here is a few pics of it with my paramilitary (the only thing I had on me this morning) Sorry for the bad pics, the light is not very good this morning

Flash II is a great knife.
I always use the "knurls" on the zytel handle located near rear of handles to pull the knife out of my pocket.

This is because if you pull the knife out by putting your index finger on the clip, you will only make the clip squeeze your pants pocket harder.

Use index finger and thumb on "knurls" inside your pocket, it seems to comes out much faster this way.

I have the satin plain edge SOG Trident and I must say that it is fantastic! The AUS-8 blade holds an edge really well and fit and finish is good with no blade play. One complaint that I do have is that I find it a little too thin lacking liners. I wouldn't let real SEALS carry it but it is awesome for EDC.

I have a Flash II and a Twitch II. While the Flash II clip allows for extremely deep carry, sometimes my cloth gets up and over the end of the handle, between the clip and the plastic thus hooking onto the knife. The handle ergos and the AO is good (I like to use my index finger on the thumbstud) and the blade is a nice usable flat grind. I find the lock system fairly crappy though with some vertical movement (though in use it is rigid with postive loading against the stop pin). With the blade clamped and myself trying to fold it close, the whole assembly flexes a whole lot and I was able to close it with fairly moderate force. It is only a $35 knife though, and plus it can be auto-ized.

The Twitch II is in a different size class. It has some nice aspects and in my opinion it doesn't have any major shortcomings like the Flash II.
