Attention All!

Just wanted to give everyone the opportunity to check out the new items for 2005. We will be at the SHOT show this weekend and if you want to see what everyone will be looking at and drooling over check out or new product inset. It can be downloaded from the following page

http://sogknives.com/Catalog

Download the new product insert (PDF file) and enjoy. Looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say.

Chris

Chris, as usual, outstanding ! I actually got to hold the SEAL Pup Elite Proto at Rep. show last fall when Spencer was there and it was absolutly amazing. I would say perfect in every detail. I also love the new TOPO design, it is sure to be very popular. Thanks for posting this.

I have a great idea for the SOG folks at the SHOT Show. Bring to the show:
1. all the items listed at your website under Factory 2nds.
2. all the items gathering dust in the SOG backrooms.
3. everything else not listed here that's never been sold.

Then have a Super-Duper sales event and, using your SOG's, cut & slash prices on all of the above to even lower levels.

Cheers,

Carl

The new Dagert, Gov Tac and Seal Pup Elite look really good! AUS-8 is a nice touch. been waiting for SOG to produce the Government with a thicker blade and they finally have!! :D

Do you guys have the MSRP's for these knives?

Heber

I have to laugh a bit at the description of the new Gov-Tac: the blade thickness is 0.200" and the ad copy says, "... an extremely thick blade...."

I'm way too spoiled by (and enamored of) the SOG S-1 Bowie at 0.280" thick..... and the Seal 2000 and the Tech I and Tech II at 0.250".

which is why I'm gonna give the new SOG Tech Bowie a serious look at the SHOT Show this weekend..... nice and "almost" thick enough at 0.240", and I'm curious how the Kraton handle will feel.

yep, SOG has definitely spoiled me way too much......

Cheers,

Carl

Yeah, that is kind of funny.. Maybe it's really thick for that style knife?? Either way, tell us about the show when you get back... You lucky duck! :D

Heber

Okay. Now you've done it. I've not even finished scrolling through the entire PDF and I want the Seal Pup Elite...

I agree with Robbie. The Meridian is very funkie, but nice. The Contour is rather interesting as well.

However, the SOG Tech Bowie is also interesting. Could be a nice work knife. And then there is the SEAL Pup Elite, and the GOV-TAC and the Daggert, ... The wife won't be happy. ;)

Glad to see SOG is staying at the front of the pack with designs.

Cheers,

Scottsman

WHY? why have the SOG cutout everywhere? these "billboards" look too gaudy for me. the new "SOG" pocket clips IMO have ruined the twitch designs that were otherwise stellar and clean as heck.

and for the powers that be, when are you ever going to upgrade the materials? sorry for being a knife snob, but it's just not the same when everything is AUS8 and zytel or kraton. like CRKT, i'd LOVE to have some of these deigns in better steel and materials. sigh...

.... Sunday evening about 6pm, just back from the SHOT Show.

The SOG pavilion once again had a nice setup facing the main aisle and everyone can see them as they walk by. Lots of display cases filled with great SOG's.

I was able to chat a couple of minutes with Mr SOG when he was between serious discussions with other folks. Also of special note was that his picture was on the front page of Saturday's "Shot Show Daily" magazine, and his interview was posted inside.

OK, so, like, did I ever get around to looking at any SOG knives ?? I can only say that Chris Cashman wouldn't let me play with one of the new Dagerts. Long story, the short one being that the display case was locked and only the shorter-blade Dagert was available for hands-on play. Also available was the new SOG Tech Bowie.
Both are nice-nice-nice !! Since I'm very partial to Bowie's, the Tech Bowie could get to my collection one of these days. And I'll have to play more with the "daggers" ..... I don't know much about 'em to be a good judge of character.

Cheers,

Carl

Carl, Glad you got to see Spencer and Chris, I bet they were really busy. Good that you got to handle some of the new blades, they look really nice. Rest up and give us a more detailed report later, thanks for the feedback.

Hey Carl, nice to have you back.. What about the Celebrity knife? ;)

Heber

Update on Meridian, found out by email that this knife should be available sometime around spring. I just don't think I can wait that long.......... :p
