Can anyone comment on the SOG Fusion Jungle Primitive knife. It is made in China and a bit on the inexpensive side. However, it looks great!!

I'm just seeing these Fusion series knives as well.

420 steel similar to Buck...interested in hearing some feedback on these.

Not its not similar to buck. Buck uses 420 HC with an awsome heat treat which makes it a decent steel. SOG is using 420J2, basically the worst steel out there no matter what heat treat it gets. Who knows what the guys it SOG were thinking when making these knives.

The design on this one is not right. The saw teeth on the blade back taper to the edge making them a little less than useless. For a saw to work it has to be as wide or wider at the tip of the teeth than at the base. You missed it with this one SOG.

Well...I put the Buck 420HC towards the bottom of the ladder. Though you are right, it's better than the other 420's out there.

The primitive, and the other knives in the fusion line all have that movie look goin, so I figure they're trying to sell to people who dont know much about knives and buy off looks, which could be why the saw on the primitive isnt even functional....

You can use it to fight off ninjas and pirates when they crash in through the window. Since this only happens once or twice a week to the average suburban warrior, edge retention isn't that big of a deal. You can impress your friends by waving it menacingly through the air and going: "Nobody better mess with me!"

hahaha, nice moonwilson...I dont think id be confident doing anything other than that with the thing...

I have a sog fusion and it is not that bad. I paid 30 dollars for it and it functions like a thirty dollar machete. It does look kind of cool and the grips are good. It serves it's purpose!

Exactly. I'll take a sharpened stick instead.

I have been using the Sog Fusion Throwers. They are great fun and considerable effort has gone into the profile. They fly well. The coating has proven very - very resiliant. It is of the same 420, sharp but they were not bought to go hunting.

Whilst it is no ways top end , Fusion is a decent quality at an affordable price. Simply put having shopped around for some time, I could afford these, and got them. and getting anything near as good will require another '0' on the price. Next aquisition will be the throwing axe.

Jungle primative really doesn't appeal to me.
