Has anyone out there got any of the new SOG Fusion Throwers, yet?

The SOG cutout is cheesy, but if the knife is cord-wrapped or home-made scale are added, the ugly handle won't be visible.

How do they function as throwers?

How tough are they?

How's the steel used in the blades?

The sheath looks rough :barf:, but does it work OK?

I'm considering buying a set. I think they might make good hard use knives, because if you break one or damage it, you've got two more. Besides, I think I like the Bowie-style blade despite my misgivings about the handle.

I'm sure they'll work just fine as throwers. Throwing is more about technique than the tool. I don't think that a cord wrap would really enhance them in that role though.

IIRC, the steel used on the Fusion line is 420J2, which isn't a high carbon steel, and can't be hardened that well. I wouldn't plan to use them as serious cutting tools.
They would cost... what - $12 a piece? You don't get more than what you pay for.
