I like SOG knives. I really do. But those rough feeling zytel handles are terrible, so I seldom use my SOGs. For a knife as expensive as the Team Leader in 20CV, couldn't SOG find some micarta some place? Ever pick up a prickly green pine cone? That has to be the model SOG used for the Team Leader scales. So here is a picture of some other makers knives for some inspiration. The BRKT Bravo-1 feels best to me. Couldn't SOG manufacture some optional micarta scales for the Team Leaders? I really would like to use this knife.

Howdy Vic ,I just got my first SOG and it has a fantastic handle. It is the old Seki made
Pentagon dagger with 1 serrated and one plain edge and the rubber handle is just wonderful. I was a bit hesitant to buy a knife designed for stabbing with no guard but the handle is so grippy and comfortable. It would be around the same price as the zytel or at least close.

Definitely a knife with 20CV steel should not have a cheap plastic handle. Even G10 or something similar would be nice.

Funny the knife I bought just before the SOG Dagger was that exact same Al Mar SERE Operator without the ugly serrations just like yours so I now have a much better idea of what the Team leader looks like in person. I always assumed it was smaller.

The jimping on the tang on the TL looks quite uncomfortable as well. I am sure it is quite grippy but the SERE has a similar shaped handle but is smooth and flush and it's grip is fine and comfortable to work with.

If it wasn't for the handle the TL 20CV would be a knife I would really want. It has a great blade shape and cool grind plus that very sexy new steel. Even some optional micarta or G10 or even wood grips like the old Becker Extremes would help.
