I recently broke the handle on my SOG tomahawk and was wondering what my options are on having it replaced or replacing it.

Hey Shawn, It should'nt be to hard to make a New Handle and make It even "Stronger" ! How long have you had your SOG TomaHawk ? And how did It Break, Was you Throwing It or Chopping Wood or ? And all In all what do you think about the SOG Tactical TomaHawk ? You have all sort's of option's as far as a New Handle goes, I'm a Newbe when It comes to TomaHawk's so maybe someone with some repair Info. maybe will help you out. But I'm sure you can make It better than It was, Good Luck & Take Care !

I actually like the SOG Hawk, the handle broke while using it at work to cut a 4" Maple tree. It feels good in the hands, but the handle is made of some brittle ass hardwood. I think the ones now have polymer handles.

I hope you can get your's fixed, The older Model's have the Hardwood Handle's and the New Model's are Nylon, I wonder If you can get a Nylon Handle for your's ? And If It would be easy to Install a new handle ? You might be better off useing a Steel Bar & welding It on to the Tomahawk head. I just ordered 2 of the New Model's with the Nylon Handles from Rocky National they should be here real soon. Good Luck In getting your's fixed, Take Care !

I busted the handle on mine the other day chopping with it. The heads are great, the handles aren't. I'm going to put a new handle on mine from a yellow sledgehammer handle.

Same thing here, but I was throwing :) The plastic handle can take about 3-4 good hits then it shatters. No big deal, just a new project. One thing I will give SOG, I have a new respect for well done 420J2.
