I don't really come here much, (more of a Spyderco guy) but this design really floored me. What a gorgeous knife! I realize part of the idea behind the knife is to deliver performance which is uncompromised by price, but is there any chance of a "midtech" version?

SOG Kiku; holy crap!

Sorry, but it is not totally Kiku's design. Spencer and Kiku worked together on the design and sent drawing and ideas back forth the get the final version. If you look at the knife the blade looks almost identical to a SEAL Knife where as the handle is more like one of his knives. So it is a true collaboration just that he is making the knives for SOG instead of SOG mass producing the design.
