Sog Knives Are Made In.....?

Hi Guys!!!!

I need some help:
What model would you buy between SPEC-ELITE II and X RAY VISION??
(I have no problems with the size), and the most important thing: Where are the SOg knives made? China, Taiwan, Japan or USA!!!!!

SOG products are made in all the places you named.
The Spec Elite is made in Japan.

I'm not sure where the X Ray Vision is made.

As for choosing between the two, SOG is supposedly about to release a model
that combines the best of both, called the Visionary.

Between the two knives you mentioned I'd buy the X Ray Vision because the blade steel is better. (It's ATS-34; the Spec Elite uses AUS8.)

But I'm not a big fan of either of those two knives.
I don't like the handle shape on the X Ray, and I don't like the blade shape either, nor
the fact that it's part serrated. And as for the Spec Elite, I don't like its use of average blade steel.
 
They are both made in Japan. I have both.

It depends on what you're using them for, but I would probably get the X-Ray Vision.
 
I think the only products made in china from sog are the fusion line products. I had taken a look in the local surplus shop and they had the fusion machete and tommohawk. I know for certain that the machette said, "made in china." Not too sure about the tommohawk though.

Edit: Oops, not in china, it must have said japan. That is a lot better in my opinion :thumbup:. thanks for clearing that one up chris.
 
Okay I'll have to correct some mis statements here again.

Arc-Lock knives such as the Vulcan, X-Ray Vision, Spec Elite and others are made in Japan. As for the Spec Elite actually the latest ones are VG-10 and still made in Japan, see post here and be sure to check the SOG website for the latest info.

Assisted knives such as the Flash, Trident folder, Twitch and others are USA.

Fixed blades such as the SEAL Pup, Pentagon, SEAL Pup Elite and others vary but are either Taiwan or Japan

Multitools are USA

Fusion products are the only items made in China

I don't know where anyone got Germany but we are not producing any products in Germany. I hope this helped out.
 
Just corrected the Fusion line... thanks for catching that.

As for the Spec Elite knives and VG-10. They do not say VG-10 on them but I would say that it is a pretty safe bet that one you are buying today is VG-10. They have been shipping with VG-10 for about 3-4 months.
