SOG knives with 8Cr13MoV blades! True?

Hello all :-)

Bulgarian magasine "GUNS BG" announced that SOG will manufacture knives with blades in the above mentioned steel (as in Spyderco Byrd entry level line) at lower price range. (IWA 2008 show news)

True or not?

What price should we expect?

Are the new models variations of already existing knives or entirely new pieces?

What knives - fixed or folding?

Available in Bulgaria??:-))).

I know that that their Fusion line features this steel. Dunno if they'll use this steel in their main products though
 
If it is the same steel used in the Byrds, and tenacious ( spyderco line) then it is a good steel. Don't judge it untill you can try it. At around RC60-61 it holds a better edge than Aus6, and sharpens without much burring. It does have a fine grain like the Aus steels so it takes a very good edge like them. Joe
