Sog Kydex Sheaths: possible problem

Is anyone experiencing extreme dulling of their knife edges using the Sog Kydex sheath? I have multiples but I am noticing it on my gov-tac which is what i use most frequently. I have not done any specific testing yet but have noticed that after I sharpen it, and do some practice draws ect, when i go to actually use the edge it is very dull except for the tapering part of the tip for some reason. Anyone else seeing this? I think it might be due to the gray filling layer in between the kydex which i presume is to "custom" fit your knife to the sheath, an ingenious idea in the way it operates, but i think a side effect might be the extreme wear I am experiencing. If further testing is needed I will be happy to oblige.

I haven't noticed the edge dulling but on my Tech Bowie its wearing part of the black ti coating off. The knife is used lightly and I'm disappointed the coating is wearing off. It's a cool looking knife but I figured it would be a little more durable.
