Hi, everyone:
I have a ANIB SOG Midnight tiger shark that is still in original box, with an original sheath, warranty card and a leg tie. How many of these were actually made and how collectible are they?
Thank you!
According to the SOGknivescollectors website, which might be the best resource for info on older SOG models, the Midnight Tigershark was a limited run, and they (SKC's) say that on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the rarest, the Midnight Tigershark is a 9.5.
The Midnight Tigershark was a special series run made for the Cutlery Shoppe using blued SK5. About 250 were made by Kinryu Seki
between 1988-1994. They would have the square EDM WA Sog logo and come with a nylon/canvas sheath.
They are not very common and are often sought after by collectors. Because of this and one should be careful in acquiring one
as there have been reported cases of "regular" satin finished EDM generation SK5 Tigersharks being blued afterwards.
