Today i will be reviewing the SOG mini aegis with a tanto black tini coated blade with a combo edge. I have a lot to say about this knife so lets get right into it.
It has AUS-8 blade steel and has glass reinforced nylon handles. The length of the knife closed is 4 inches, the blade is 3.1 inches and opened it is 7.1 inches. This knife will run you about 90 dollars. lets get to the good things about this knife; It has jimping on the spine of the blade which is very aggressive, it also has jimping on the thumb rest before the jimping on the spine and jimping on the forefinger grip. The jimping on the handle is not as aggressive as the jimping on the spine but it will still lock your hands in. The Ergos on this knife are very comfortable and lock your hands in and with the added texturing on the handles it helps even more. The glass reinforced nylon handle scales are hollowed out to lighten them up and over all this knife is very light. The pocket clip is tip up right and left handle changable, you cannot have it tip down. the locking mechanism is SOGs arc actuator and it is easy to close, it is also easy to open because it is spring assisted. the thumb stud is ambi dexterous for left and right hand opening. Almost all of sogs spring assisted knifes have an integrated safety so when the safety is activated it will not open until you disactivate it.
Now to the bad thinks i found with the knife, the tanto blade for me is kind of hard to sharpen but then again i am not the most experienced person at sharpening knive. When you close the knife it is gritty from the metal of the blade rubbing against the handle scales. The black coating on the pocket clip is starting to wear off, but i have had this knife for a little less than a year and i have carried it for about 10 months of that year and used it many times daily so for the amount of it wearing off is very minimal. I am not a huge fans of combo edges so i did not like that part of it but it still worked really well. It does have just a little bit of rust on the blade but it is very minimal and is just surface rust, i have rubbed it off and the blade is like new.
Over all i would highly recommend this knife for anyone who is looking at this knife. It is a very good knife but feel it is a bit over pricved but you could probably find it cheaper. Thanks for reading and please leave some feed back and pointers, i am new to the forums and would like any input and tips i could get.

Welcome, Mr. Kniveman. I carried a mini Aegis today as well, though mine was the plain edge, clip point flavor. Your knife, and mine, can be purchased for around $48 shipped on a large auction site. I like SOG generally, and the regular and mini Aegis specifically. Once you get past the cheapy feel of it, I have found them to be fine EDC knives. Super light weight, and I like the deep clip and assisted opener. SOGs are not for everyone, but I am a fan.
