Overall - great knife. ATS-34 (combo edge tanto though which will turn a lot of folks off) and the best zytel texturing I've seen for grip. I love the low profile deep carry clip on the SOGs too. So far I havent made any adjustments - the arclock (axis) mechanism is very smooth and quick to open and close. I haven't handled an AXIS folder yet (next on the list) - but I can't imagine it being any better than this. Lightning quick to deploy and then put away.

Make it in a plain edge drop point and I'll buy a second one.

sting 7777, I agree, had one for over a year and still rock solid, super smooth and fast, bead blast blade is slick, like having ball bearings in the pivot, and arc lock is perfect, no play at all in any direction. Would buy several more just in case SOG quits making them.:D

since you have had it awhile - have you stripped it down yet? I am curious as to what the washers are. I tend to like to have nylatron and use no lube or switch to bronze and use militec. It is VERY smooth from the factory - but I assume there is a bushing because the pivot screw is super tight and I still get slight lateral bladeplay - and the blade is obviously loose on the pivot.

Sting 7777, No, I have never stripped it, just air blow and soap and water, then hair dryer and light oil. I would strip it if I think something can be improved and investigate inside, but this knife is slick and smooth, so I learned over years of mistakes and fix it jobs, if it works well, I don't mess with it. But I certainly would if I thought I could make it smoother. SOG uses loc tight on most of the pivot screws I hear, but don't hold me to that, becuase I have adjusted pivots on SOGs and did not feel much resistance on a few, but that don't mean it's not in there. I think it is because I have never had one work loose, ever.
I have a night vision that is the same, super slick and never have touched it other than warm water and soap.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine.

well - I swapped the washers out for two 5/32" bronze ones. Much better feel and lockup and much less bladeplay.

Why don't all knives come with quality washers? I mean - it cost me $1.00 to upgrade it and it feels like a knife twice as expensive...
