SOG MT Components?

When replacing components into a SOG multitool, is there some sort of rule or guide as to which components can replace which other ones or can they just be put anywhere? For instance, do the scissors need to be placed on an end next to the handle or can it go anywhere?

Also, are there any places that sell the components or is SOG's website the only place that carries them?

Thanks!

Ahhh went browsing around the SOG site and found the answers for the positioning of components question :) Still wondering if there are other dealers who sell the components.

Where as I was primarily interested about the Power Pliers and the Power Assist, I am now also looking at the Pocket Power Pliers... More to mull over in my little head I suppose :p

I like my PowerAssist very much. I popped the hand protector wing off and usually just have that side face my palm, and added a ClipDraw pocket clip.

The only thing that is a little disappointing is that the locking mechanism on the assisted blades is not strong at all. I've popped it cutting thick cardboard and can do it by hand. I think of them as backup blades and always carry a dedicated knife.

I am a little shocked that you managed to pop that lock. While mine does have some slight blade play, couldn't imagine popping it. However, I dont have the same expectations of multitool knives that I do for my dedicated folder.

You can use the safety to double lock the assisted blades. I can unlock, open, and apply the safety with one hand no prob, and never had it come close to popping. Slight blade play, but that's it. I love my power assist!

Did you ever find another vendor for the SOG components? I snapped my phillips driver and was thinking of ordering a new one plus a few new tools to swap in, but the SOG site seems much more expensive than it should be...

Wow you resurrected a 4 year old thread on your first crack...

And to answer your question I think you can only get the components from SOG... (I just retooled my Power Assist)

yep...is that good or bad? I've been reading here a long time and usually can find answers to all my questions from other folks having asking the same, but didn't realize this is the first time I've actually posted...
I considered starting a new thread, but this one addressed my issue pretty specifically, so I thought this might be more appropriate. Anywho, thanks for the input :)
