I am interested in a sog multi-tool. Does the sog lock like the supper tool? Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jay

The SOG Powerlock has locking tools like the Supertool 200.

I bought both the LM and the SOG, and I prefer the SOG.

SOG makes several multi-tools of different sizes, all of them excellent. Only the PowerLock has locking tools, although the handle positions of the others will keep the tools from closing onto your hands.

I carry a PowerLock as my EDC multi-tool. What more recommendation can I give? :D

The SOG PowerLock is an excellent tool, and IMHO, a bit mre heavy duty than the Leatherman Supertool.

I carried the PowerLock for about 18 months, and it handled everything I threw at it, and kept on going. I'm hard on multi tools, and the PowerLock kept up.

I'm carrying the Gerber Legend 800 right now, and it also has surpased my expectations for a heavy duty multi tool.

My overall vote is for the PowerLock, for a no nonsense, heavy duty multi tool.

If you have the extra $$$ I'd suggest the TiNi version. You don't get tougher than that when it comes to multi-tools.

I really like the LM Supertool 200 and Victorinox Swisstool. I wanted to see what all of the hub-bub was about the SOG so I bought one.

I put it on-par with the LM but not quite as refined as the SAK. The gear driven pliars are definitely the big selling point.

What I didn't like, and the reason I ultimately sold it, was that I could not open the tool flat in order to extend the reach because of the gears.

Most times when I'm using a handle tool I like to keep the pliars folded into one handle and open the other handle to form a straight line with both handles. Makes the tool easier to grip and extends reach.

Kind of hard to describe, if it doesn't make sense I can post pictures later.

LOL. Pahl, at first glance, that picture looks like a very bad idea...

LOL again at Steven Andrews' "supper (sic) tool". You bastid. :)

If you're gonna get the TiNi version, you should make it quick, because SOG has discontinued it.

Exactly!

Can't do that with a SOG.
