I'm interested on buying a Sog Multitool, and I like Sog specially on black finish.
Now My Question is wich one to buy?

SOG POWERLOCK or SOG POCKET POWERLOCK?

Please tell me about the pro's and de con's/

Thanks Jose.

the smaller pocket power plier does not have locking blades, which may make your choice easier. The pocket model is much lighter and seems easier to carry. I have a paladin tools powerplay tool on my side as I write this. I was made by SOG but has some interesting differences, one of which is covers over the teeth on the gears. These tools were made for telecom, datacomm, or electricians. If you are one of those it would be a good choice. The Larger powerlock is a good choice if you want locking blades. If you want locking blades and are one of the above mentioned professions then you would probably like the larger powerplay tool. Easiest choice of all buy all of them and change out whenever you like.

Agreed - I just took delivery of a Paladin PT-510 late last week and same with me - it's on my belt as we chat:D What intrigued me about this one (couldn't get the PT-525 up here) was the fact that it was quite a specialized tool and for me, it's the electrical/computers & PC's side. I just started acquiring revenue properties and replacing plugs, switches, fixtures, etc. is pretty common stuff. My LM Wave II was OK for this but it was just a bit awkward, due to it's size. The PT-510 is closer to the PST size wise and in it's first few uses, appears to fit the bill. I guess time will tell here. Very well made (wouldn't expect anything less from SOG, who is the manufacturer), and super smooth on the opening:) I'll be using it this week to "test" it out to see how useful it is when I stage some servers.

Is it true that the Pocket plier is the same size as a Leatherman PST?

Does the Sog has rounded grips? Because the PST does not so it really hurts when you use the pliers?

The sog pliers with gear drive create twice the power from your hand so you dont have to grip as hard so it should not hurt as much if at all. The bigger models have handle covers.

So wichone should I get?

Powerlock

EOD Powerlock

Pocket powerplier

Pocket powerplier de luxe

The Paladin are descarted because I do very little electric and telecomm jobs.

The primary difference is that the EOD as two crimping holes (or whatever you call them) right behind the plier pivot. A large and small, used for crimping blasting caps and such. Could also be used for crimping wire connections. I have both and have used both extensively with nary a hiccup. My favorite story is that awhile back I was helping my son-in-law rebuild his fence (fell over during a storm). Well we were pulling nails out of the old boards. Some of the nail heads, being rusty and corroded, would not come out. So, I just cut them off flush with the wood with my trusty powerlock. Easy as pie. What is really neat, if you got a spare nickel is to cut the nickel in half with a power lock. Yes, they will do it. I know, I've done it.
