For some reason i cant seem to find what kind of steel SOG uses with their multi tools. anyone know? does anyone have personal experience with these and would recommend them over leatherman and others?

Also, I cannot find a difference between EOD and non EOD models.

thanks in advance for any feedback :)

EOD models have a blasting cap crimping tool.

All I can find is that it is a stainless. So if no one can find out, run a cut test with that and other stainless knives to get an estimate on the steel. I know they use a lot of VG but im not sure if SOG does that to their multi tool

I use a SOG Powerassist for work and love it. If the cool factor of having assisted opening blades don't impress you I'd go with the Powerlock, (more tools). The compound leverage gears make them the best pliers out there IMO. You can snap pennies effortlessly. Very tough tools and you can switchout/replace individual components. These can be ordered at SOG's website. I carry the Pocket Power Plier for non work carry.
