I would consider the Cold Steel Trail Master which is made in carbon steel. I believe the Trail Master is a larger knife however. I don't believe the NW Ranger was ever made in cabon steel. But some of the SOG fixed blades were made in cabon steel in the past and can be found; the Tech 1 and Tech II comes to mind but neither is "just like" the NW Ranger.

Cold steels are not very good at being SOGs, and visa versa.
NW Ranger is a good knife - and it wont be the first such you miss out on if you insist on being a steel snob.
