SOG Night Vision

Hey! I have a new in box SOG "Night Vision" and I never see them for sale on Ebay or anywhere else. Can someone explain why? I'd like to have another, and I see the Vision, X-Ray Vision, and 1 or 2 others but I've only seen a Night Vision for sale a couple times. It opens and closes smoother than just about any knife I have ever owned, and I was wondering if the "Vision" is the same. Also looking for someone that can help me out with some rare Al Mar folders if anyone can. Thanks!
 
They discontinued the Sog Night Vision NV-70 model. Sog did this (I'm told my C/S @ Sog) when they released the X ray Vision. The X ray Vision was less expensive to make and had a greater demand. The NV-70 wasn't such a hot seller or so I was told. I own 2 of them and love them. I bought the Ti version but later sold it as I liked the Night Vision better and it was less slippery in the hand. They can be found for $50-$100 bucks on the bay. I picked up my user for $50 and my new one (w/o box) for $75 or so.

Hey thanks for the good info! The one I have came from Ebay, but I've checked at least a couple times a week in the past 3-4 months and haven't seen another unless it slipped by me, which is highly probable =). Thanks again man!
 
I bought one of these great knives in 2002 from Smoky Mountain Knife works as sort of a celebration to mark the year I first met Spencer Frazer and the SOG Revolver knife was born from my prototypes. I found out quickly it was too big to carry in my pocket, so I designed a horizontal sheath just for it to fit on my belt for quick access.

It fits in front under the front of my shirt on my belt. You can not see the sheath or knife.

I have carried this knife every time I wear my jeans since 2002. No exceptions. I can get to this knife in a couple seconds or less, and at 57 years old I think that is pretty good. It's always opened and closed and never failed to operate......because it is a SOG knife, it was designed to operate for life.

The SOG Night Vision was one of SOGs finest. It is a testament to Spencer Frazers unique ability to create and design knives that will stand the test of time.

My Night Vision never comes out unless I am showing it to someone or I think I might need it. It is a super silky smooth knife. Here is a video I made of me opening and closing it a while back. I thought it was kind of neat. I don't think many people really knew what it was.

Great video! My Night Vision is exactly the same....it opens & closes so smoothly you just want to do it over and over. I've never been able to afford very many custom's, but the few I do have aren't as smooth as it is. I paid $101 for one new on Ebay and I feel like I stole it. I've been watching for another, but they don't pop up too often. I'd like to have 2 more to be honest, because knives like that are hard to come by. I wanted to ask, are any of the other SOG "Vision" models like the Night Vision as far as smoothness & quality? I wish I would stumble across one of the few plain edge Night Vision's but I kinda doubt I will. Now if I could get some help with a couple Al Mar knive's I have...=).

It is a great knife from a great company. I have a few of their other knives, but the Night Vision is my favorite folder.

I feel the same. I have a couple older Micro-Dot's and 2 older Flash's, but my favorite by far is the Night Vision. Do you know if the titanium "Vision" or possibly the smaller "X-Ray Vision" feels the same as our Night Vision's do as far as smoothness when opening & closing? Also, would you happen to know anyone that is pretty knowledgeable about older Al Mar knives? I have a few of them I need some info on. Thanks for all of your time.
 
I have a titanium Vision and it is just as perfect as the NV. It is silky smooth and made very well. My wife got it for me many years ago and I have never carried it.

I used to own a X-ray and it was silky smooth too but nothing like the NV as far as weight etc. It was ATS -34 and had a bead blast finish which worked well. It was a great knife but I would consider it a NV "light".

It was very smooth too but did not have the weight and feel.....great knife though.

I would ask around here on the BF site maybe in general knife discussion and I'm sure someone will help you with the Al mar questions.
