while i was shopping around for a sog scuba/demo i came across a company called dark ops and since i couldn't find anything about them here, i figured i'd ask.

how does Dark Ops Shadow compare against the SOG Scuba/Demo?

Welcome to Bladeforums. :)

SOG is an established company with a forum here at Bladeforums. Dark Ops has a more controversial history, and most discussions about the company end up critiquing their way of doing business, especially since few people here have ever handled their knives.

I'm not sure you'll run across anyone (Or many) that have tried Dark Ops knives. SOGs are not bad & you'll definitely find fans of their on the Forum, not to mention that they have their own section.

get the sog, i own both the darkops interceptor, and the sog seal, the seal is abetter knife for general use, the darkops is thick at the edge and more of a sharpened pry bar, you cant go wrong with a sog, it also looks less like a deanimation tool.lol. for the money a sog would be alot better than a darkops, i kinda regret buying mine....

A few years ago my Dad ran across this test and was buying a lot of different brands, at that time so he ordered a Dark Ops folder from Savson's. Now he's into firearms and all the knives he has are pretty much mine. They do have over the top hype for sure and they are pretty much copied after Extreme Ratio. But the fit and finish is very good on the one I have and it's certainly made for hard use. I haven't felt the urge to buy anymore of them after learning all about how the brand came to be, but it's still a rather interesting heavy folder IMO.
