SOG PE II problems

Hello,

First time posting here. I have a PE II that is about a year old. Today was doing some cleaning, and removed the cam lock screw pin to get at the kidney shaped recess. I noticed that there was a spring lying across the cam lock when I started, but after running a Q-Tip through it to get all the gunk out, the spring was gone/had disengaged, and the cam lock no longer funtioned. The blade is now "limp," and does not remain locked open, or shut. Upon inspection, I noticed two little pins on the inner liner that are sticking up about half a mm. I assumed that this was the cam lock spring, and that it was now inside the liner. I do not want to procede until I know exactly what is going on. I emailed Mike at SOG, but unfortunately this was after business hours. Does anyone have a clue what I have done to my baby? Are there any exploded parts diagrams that can detail just what went wrong? Thanks for all the help.

There are 2 springs (sort of "s" shaped), that center the lock pin. What you have probably done is unhooked one end (probably of each spring) from the pin. To re-hook them you would need to take the handles off, and re-assemble the mechanism. It isn't that hard, but it does take practice, and you are best to have SOG do it for you. If you are technically challenged, it will be tough, otherwise you can do it; though it could potentially void your warranty.
I have taken my Visions apart several times, and re-assembled them incorrectly several times... ;) :p I got it eventually... it takes practice.:D
