How is this sucker... how does the lack of guard effect it could it be used as a edc? how is the fit/finish?
How does it compare to simular priced knives?

It's a pretty darned good knife and the handles are textured very well, so you shouldn't have any slipping problems.
I was very impressed when I received this knife.

I liked the Pentagon fixed blade because it is double edged, with one side serrated so it is very versatile. This, however, is a combo edge which I usually avoid. I don't own one, so I can't really comment on it, but with a blade at 5", with a handle around 6", its definately not suitable for EDC, at least in my book.

SOG does make good knives, so if this meets your needs, go for it.

I have not actually seen a PE 2 live, but I do own the regular sized PE. I have a newer one with the Acr Lock and think it's a great knife.

I think the PE 2 would be awfully large for EDC. Check out the PE.
