I am starting to see some dealers begining to stock the SOG EOD 2.0 model.

Have an fellow multitool nuts out there tried one yet?

If so what do you think of it?

I am liking the new features SOG introduced. On paper they seem to be some sound improvements but how do they measure up in use?

I will probably und up with one in the near future but I figured I would see if anyone else has beat me to the punch.

all the best,
Jason

I just got one. After a really short trial my initial impressions are that the pliers are better, the cover on the gears is great but I don't really like the piano key locks. They don't seem as sturdy but I'll have to wait and see. The V cutter seems to work well and the punch works well as an ice pick (LOL). It is well made but the fit and finish is not as good as Leatherman or Victorinox.

thanks alot for the info. please keep us posted on how the piano keys hold up.

How are the cutters on the new PowerLock 2.0?

The new design looks a bit like the Paladin PowerPlay PT-525 (the product of a collaboration between SOG and Paladin Tools). The PowerPlay PT-525 has the best cutters on any multi-tool that I've ever used. I wonder if the cutters on the PowerLock 2.0 are as good.

Here's a closeup photo of the PowerLock 2.0 cutter:

For the price, the SOG is one of the best for heavy duty work, and the best part is that any or all blades of tools
can be replaced at a very reasonable price, you can't do
that with most other mult's.
My only complaint is the weight,so I still carry my tried
and true PST 2 for EDC.
