The past few weeks, I've been carrying my SOG Powerlock multi-tool, I've found a few things with it that I like, and as with all multi-tools, a few things that I feel need improvement.

I'll start with the things that need improvement. First, the locks on the tools don't always engage properly; the tools, especially the screwdriver will occasionally close during use, I'd like to see it with a stronger spring on it. Second, the wire strippers are terrible, I forget they're there and I keep pinching my fingers in them, it's pretty annoying, I'd like to see them redesigned or removed entirely.

Now for the rest. The pliers cut really good, went right through barbed wire with no problems. I can't quite figure out what the handle covers are for, they seem pretty useless to me but it's no big deal. The saw, does what it's supposed to, the awl is okay, the flat screwdriver and can opener are pretty normal, do what they're supposed to. The Phillips screwdriver is good; compared to the one on my Gerber which is awful, it's flat instead of round, I can't for the life of me figure out why they did that. The file is... well, a file, it files :p. I'd like to see the partial serrations on the blade go bye byes, but who buys a multi-tool for the blade. I got the one with the v-cutter which I've found woks good for smaller zip ties. And the last thing, is this weird looking tool that took me about an hour to figure out what it was for, it was a 1/4 socket wrench, that I really like, if I know what size sockets I'll need I just pocket them and I don't have to carry a ratchet, however there is one thing that could use a little tweak with it, the tool locks opened half way as well as all the way but the handle cover doesn't close when it's opened half way so there's no way to use it, that way, without removing the handle cover.

It's got a few issues, but overall it's a good multi-tool for the money, I likes it. :D

I carry the eod powerlock with me all the time. I agree with you that the handle covers are useless, so I removed them. The tool functions much better without them and it is perfectly comfortable gripping the pliers. Try it out. They are easy to snap back on if you decide to.
