Just what the topic says...I'd appreciate all oppinions. I feel the need to get a small multitool(keychain size) that can take the place of my SAK's on days where I want to use a more tradional slipjoint. I was concerned about the loss of the tools though...which I find to come in very handy.(Mostly the screwdrivers and bottle opener)

Your absolutely right...I had a feeling I messed that one up! I was just too lazy to double check. Now from lurking I know that your a former SOG employee..can I expect your oppinion to be un-biased?? lol!;) :p

I carry both a Micra and a Crossgrip on my keychain. Unless you definitely need a strong pair of pliers, I'd recommend the Micra. The Micra is a tiny bit smaller and is finished better (if you care about that sort of thing). It also has better screwdrivers than the Crossgrip, IMO. The Crossgrip serves more as a peace of mind backup to my SOG Powerlock, or for those times when you need two pairs of pliers at the same time.

Haven't handled a Squirt before, so I can't compare it to a Crossgrip.

The Squirt is a nice looking little keychain tool with plenty of little gadgets. My main gripe with the LM is that it just doesn't feel substantial in hand (even for a keychain tool). Other problems are weak springs on the tools (though they are more accessable) and the aluminum scales wiggle loosely on mine. The CrossGrip on the other hand feels like a real tool. The handle isn't as comfortable as the LM but the pliers pack more power due to the design. The tools on the SOG aren't as nice as the LM but lock once the handles are closed and are pretty functional. Other things that could be improved on are the hex head screws which constantly become loose on mine even with loctite and the philips head screw driver leaves much to be desired. Overall, I would go for the SOG just because of the design and power of the pliers. For looks and an overall smaller package go for the LM.

 How do the Crossgrip's tools lock up any more than the Micra's? They're both exactly the same in how they hold the tools in place, except for the Crossgrip's freely moving middle tools (the tweezers and Philips) which don't even have the spring bar part of the handles holding them in place.

added: Whoops, sorry! I didn't notice that you were comparing the Squirt and the Crossgrip. :)

I knew somebody here would have some info. Thanks to both of you for the input. I'm leaning more towards the Micra now.
