I saw something about this SOG Provider knife and thought it looked nice, sort of a smaller version of the Pillar and then found out that instead of being made in the USA like the Pillar it was made in china. And the retail price is 160 compared to 190 for the Pillar, WTF SOG, you can keep that one.

The SOG Provider FX is made in Taiwan. Not China.

Decent knife. Definitely more of an upscale Tellus FX or Aegis than a Pillar. I would call it more of a camp knife thank bush craft. Good ergonomics for light use but handle is a bit narrow and short for heavier applications. Supper "spicy" blade although not the thickest. Price point for knife with similar materials is a bit high. As with most of their Taiwanese knives, great fit and finish on knife and sheath. Uses that crappy UMS for attachment. Sheath has no attachment holes that you can put an aftermarket clip onto. I picked mine up form SOG website during sale for about $75. I wouldn't pay $140 or $150.
