Hi there,

I just handled a SOG Recon Bowie a few days ago and I was really impressed. I would like to know why is this knife no more popular ? Is something wrong with this model ?
Feebacks are welcome !
Thanks in advance.

Bladeforums.com has SOG knives subforum where you can almost certainly find people who own this knife.

I like the knife a lot but it is pretty expensive. So for me it is the price that's wrong with this model.

I own one... decent enough knife, but plays in a rough price range. I got an exceptional deal on it, and wouldn't have purchased it if I hadn't.
I changed the primary grind to a far less acute angle, as from the factory it's awfully steep... likely for strength, but didn't make it a good cutter, for sure! Easy fix, and the knife performs well.
The sheath is the worst kind of garbage imaginable, and the knife has never been put in it. I had Bladetech make a kydex sheath that is leaps and bounds better...

Doing it over again, and wanting to have a knife like this (in this style, I mean), I'd probably buy a Randall, or save my pennies and buy a custom from Ray Laconico.
