My Seki made Recon Bowie came with a black leather sheath. Every photo I've seen till
now had a black sheath. I recently came across what appears to be a Recon Bowie but
with a Brown leather sheath. Does anyone have one of these or have seen one?

nope.
but tan sheaths were notably for use in vintage special limited editions
with non standard handle or the likes...

my guess is that you've seen this?

Looks like you're bang on, on both counts GIRLYmann. These tan/brown sheaths were used on the obscure limited damascus Recon Bowie as well. I blew up the photo up above and sheath clearly has Lynwood WA on it. It is the same model as in your for sale link but not the exact same knife. So it seems that at one point SOG used these sheaths on rhe regular Recon Bowie. If I had to take a wild guess I would think that this may be the last tail end of the Seki production between 2005 and 2006. I've seen instances of knives resorting to what they had left on hand to clean up supplies, or having to source from non-regular sources to make up a shortage, resulting in an identifiable "last year of production" model.

The one I currently have has a black sheath. I have had the 20th Anniversary edition and it also had a black sheath. I sort of like the looks of the brown sheath.

That is a beautiful knife. I don't currently own any Sogs but keep considering it. The stacked leather handled Sogs attract me the most.

So here I am reviving my own dead post. I came accross another SOG Recon Bowie with a brown leather sheath.
But this time, you can see the entire pakage. The box is not a SOG Knives box, either the older all white ones or the
later B&W ones. In fact it looks very much like a Hattori box with outout the label. Then it contains a yellow piece of paper
giving warnings on the safe use of a knife, keep it away from chidren, etc. This paper is found in many Japan made knife boxes
if purchased in/from Japan. This knife is deignated RB-100. In contrast to the SBR-80 that is on the white box of my Recon Bowie.

The mysterious Damascus Recon Bowie, reported to have been made only in 2001 with 20 units which all pre-sold out, used this brown sheath. Seems no one knows the designation number for this obscure model, or even if there ever was any.
