I tried to reorofile my sog tomcat to a scandi grind but I didn't realize when I started the the middle between the edge and the start of the bevel is actually kinda concave/hollow grindish. I think I've screwed it up but the two lines of the sharpening area are getting closer to each other towards the middle. What should I do to get this scandi grind done

Cant put back metal that's been taken away.. Looks like you are using a machine of some type?

I would have started at the spine and worked my way down. This is really a job for someone who knows their way around a belt sander.

WOW ! :-o
I think I would stop now, and pretend it's some kind of modified hamaguri grind and use it the way it is. You will either decide you like it for something, or it will be a parts knife.

The only way I can imagine turning a hollow ground blade into a Scandi would effectively reduce the blade height by 30% or more (and I can not understand any reason to do so intentionally).

A couple of options as I see it. Keep going, and have a very thin knife. Polish it all out and carry on.
In theory you could take it all the way to a full flat grind... but in that case you would need to start adjusting your angle to thin the blade without grinding away at the current apex. that would be challenging under any circumstances, and it will leave you with a somewhat disproportionate knife, as I believe the tomcat has a fairly substantial handle.
