Ok I just aquired 2 more Tigersharks. One has a smooth edge with the current blade finish and a leather sheath (bottom knife in pic).I believe this one is aus6. There are a few light marks in the finish I can polish out. The knife is in good to exellent shape and has never been sharpened . The blade has the same markings as the current model Tigershark. The handle is the softer stickier kraton. The sheath is is in good shape and is the square end style. The other Tigershark is a satin finished carbon steel version. The knife is in exellent to like new condition and has never been sharpened. The blade has no rust or scratches in the metal and has a high polish finish. The blade is marked on one side with SOG S.M. CA. the other side is maked Seki Japan in very small letters. All the markings are painted on, lazer engraved, or very very lightly stamped. The handle is the softer sticker kraton. The sheath is in good condition and is maked the same as the blade without the Seki Japan. The sheath is leather and comes to a point. It appears to be right handed only. What I want is for some of the Sog experts to look at the pics and tell me the history and or any info on these blades. I would also like to know the current value to see is I overpaid for them. Thanks

I can just about guarantee you that the second one, that old carbon-steel blade'd relic with the S.M. CA stamp, ain't worth more than $5, maybe $10 if you're lucky.
So I'll help ease the pain of that and offer you a quick $25 to help soothe and console.......

as you can tell, I'm just kiddin'..... THAT particular model Tigershark is what I'm fortunate to have and it's a definite forever-keeper. It goes with me every time I head into the field. It takes a fabulously sharp edge and is my most-favorite camp knife.
as to a cash value, I don't know ..... they are hard to find (I don't want to use the word "rare"). $100 ?? $150 ?? somewhere in there ?? Others here at the Forum are more knowledgeable about a cash value.

Bottom Line: FANTASTIC SCORE !! CONGRATULATIONS !!

Cheers,

Carl
