I ordered the SOG Scuba/Demo and it was back ordered. My distrubitor said it would be early Feb. at best before they got it in.:(

While I'm waiting I was wondering if anyone had one and could tell me what they think of it. I've only seen pictures of it and if this is like all the other SOG knives I've bought then the pictures cant do it justice. Help.

1.) Is the handle more like the SOG Bowie, being oval all the way to the finger guard, or does it taper to the guard like the Recon Bowie??

2.) Anything else I would want to know??

Ron,

If the Vietnam Tomahawk is not likely, can you tell me if you guys would be open to a remake of the Banana Knife?? It would totally complete the remakes of Baker's SOG Knives?? Also I have an awsome SOG Blackworks logo for you but can't sent it to your e-mail address at SOG due to filters. E-mail me at dwarlick@rutherford.k12.nc.us and let me know where I could send it, if you want it??

Hi Danny,

I'd love to see the logo! :) I've not heard, though, of file restrictions based on an emaiil filter. :( We should be "wide open" for business. Try:

Try this one...too.

Regarding The Scuba/Demo, it does have the same handle, crossguard and butt cap as the Recon Bowie.

Bobbie B (Rob) has one. Hopefully he'll give you his thoughts.

I love that knife!!! It is bigger than it looks in pictures. Ron is (of course!) right about the handle. The Bowie (and my Trident) have slight finger grooves, but not noticeable taper. The Scuba/Demo is tapered. This makes more sense with this knife, since the back edge is serrated, allowing you to hold it either side up with no loss of comfort.
In a related story, my father-in-law picked up an older model (but brand new) Estwing stainless hatchet with the leather stacked handle ($35 CA= U$20...). It makes a nice set with the S/D. I'll take a digi-pic, and send it to Ron for posting.
I love to show off my knives!!!:D
