I am considering buying a SOG Scuba/Demo. Does anyone own one or can post pics or give a review.

Like all my blades this will be a user. I was wondering how the leather handle and sheath holds up, I wont be diving with it but it may have to brush off a rain storm and take a few falls into sh!t creek.

I was also wondering about the heat treat. Does it sharpen easy. The thickness of the blade. How well the serrations cut.

It is one of the originals. Made in Seki Japan with AUS8 steel. It is a worthy knife for any task. Some of us wash off the finish on the washers and treat the leather with neatsfoot oil if you are going to use it.

How thick is the Blade?
Do you have any instructions on treating the handle?

blade is .25" at the base. Just wash the handle with a dish brush, cold running water, and a little dish detergent. This will take off the water based finish and give it a sort of salty look. Then get some 100% Neatsfoot Oil and dab on the handle with a toothbrush for about a day or so. The oil will soak into the leather and not leave an oily surface. It will turn the leather a very dark brown that looks really good and will preserve and protect the leather.

Here is a picture of one with a treated handle. Ignore the blade. The blade is customized a little and doesn't look like the factory blade.
