This knife has been getting some pretty good pub from what I have read. It sounds like a solid knife but im not sure. It claims to be the "official" knife of the Navy Seals. What do you guys think about this knife? How does it compare to Ranger, Busse, Scrap Yard, KaBar knives?

You can get a Fallkniven A1 or S1 for less than you'd spend on either the old SEAL or new one and have a knife that looks somewhat similar, but is better on all aspects imho.

Hey Guys...

The Seal 2000 is a good knife,, however for heavy duty woods use,, I wouldn't take it....

I'd prefer a Ranger, Busse,Swamper or Scrapper...These are heavy duty knives that would be Very hard to damage..

One of the things I don't like about them is the tip.. A little too thinned out for my taste...

I actually use one as a diving knife. It originally came with a cordura nylon sheath, which seemed a bit strange for a knife that claimed to be made for navy seals. I got a Blade Tech sheath for it and the fellow I spoke with there told me that most of the people were attaching them to their vests with nylon ties. This was a bit scary to me, to put a sharp, pointy knive like that on my inflatable vest, but it worked out well. The sheath holds it securely.

I like the knife and keep it on my work desk. It's good for a lot of things and makes a great letter opener.

I guess you could say I really like the SOG Seal 2000 even though I love the SOG Tigershark better. Here is some SOG Seal 2000 love.
