Which should I buy? The primary use will be backpacking/camping but it will probably go with me everyday as well (in my kit bag).

All opinions are appreciated.

Thanks.

It would be a hard choice between the two (I have both), but I THINK that I'd choose the BK-7...The blade shape/profile of the BK-7 is "better" than that of the Seals', as a "camp knife".

I would go with the BK7 for camping. It should handle those chores better. If I was in a saltwater environment I would go with the SOG. But you should get both:D

The BK-7 woud do much better as a general use knife. I'd be surprised if you chop well with a Seal 2000, and it's a much harder knife to sharpen, esp with it's serations.

Of course on the Camillus forum everybody is going to recomend the Becker but I say get the SOG. Just kidding. No really, get the SOG if you want a "combat" knife or just because it's neat to own a lot of different knives. But if you want a real knife get the Becker. This is a properly ground, quality, blade that is infinitely more useful and plenty "combat" ready. ;)
