SOG Seal Pup blade material.

Hi I have been reading up on the Seal Pup on the internet. I have seen it listed with two different materials. I know it is currently being made with AUS. Has it been made with other materials before?

The Seal Pup is AUS-6 and I believe always has been. The Seal Pup Elite is AUS-8.

The SOG SEAL pup elite also has a a larger handle with finger grooving, in addition to better steel.

i have both of these knives.

both are great.

i especially like my seal pup in the saltwater, freshwater environments because it seems to be almost rust proof. just need to clean off with freshwater and dry it before long term storage.

i have the seal pup elite also which i bought today but havent had a real chance to use but i can already see that it will be good cause i really liked the seal pup non-elite version.
