Hey guy, I'm kinda knew to the knife world. Due to a very scary situation I recently found myself in I believe I'm going to make sure I'm much better prepared before I enter the woods. So help me out guys, I'm looking at two differant knives and cant decide. First I really like the size, weight, balance, sheath. I'm a bit concerned about the steel the Seal Pup Elite is made of AUS8. Now the Scrap yard knives look like they are built like a tank. I think it may be a bit on the heavy size and maybe a bit to big. I watched some videos on Knivetest.com and the Scrap yard performed better than any other knife. So you guys think you can help me make a decision

Well it depends on your budget. The Seal Pup elite is a great affordable woods knife but IMO the scrapyard has a far better warranty... Break a scrapyard knife and they'll replace it, no questions asked (like a Busse!). Break a SOG and the lady at the warranty dept will tell you it's abuse. :D

First off I am a big Scrapyard fan, and love the 3 different Scrapyards that I have, and can.t wait for my Scrapper 5. I say you should jump on the Scrapper 5, while it is up for order right now, but not much longer. It is just a tad bigger than the SOG, and will not always be avaible. Get the Scrapper 5 and if you don't like it, you can sell it and get the Seal Pup which will always be avaiable all over the place.

I've listed what I think are the merits of each knife

Sealpup Elite:
Extremely sharp
Very good ergonomics
Light
Better combat knife
Lower cost

Scrapyard:
Better at taking abuse
Stronger tips
Excellent warranty

Thanks for all the feedback guys. So I think I decided, the SOG it is, considering I they dont sell the knife I was looking for. I honestly didnt know how scrap yard worked.
