Sog Seal Pup Elite Question

I just pulled the trigger on a new Seal Pup Elite, it was an impulse buy however the auction ended at $49.00 so I think I made out pretty good.

Anyways, does anyone know if the factory sheath is a horizontal carry or can be made for horizontal carry? Also is the optional Kydex sheath horizontal carry?

Here is the auction picture showing what was included, I wont have the knife for a few days.

well if its not one u can always find one easy or just get a thread and needle and/or another method and attach some straps...
 
If you bought the knife with the sheath shown in the picture, then yes it is capable of horizontal carry. The sheath will easily fit the seal pup elite and has a front pocket that you can use to store a small sharpening stone or even a multitool (i keep my leatherman charge in there). It's pretty sharp out of the box. Enjoy :)
 
Yes, I have the same one with the same sheath. You can rig it to your satisfaction.

The Kydex sheaths for the SPE appear to be out, again. At one time, I was told they were no longer selling them separately. It's a toss up, but with the Kydex can use your knife to cut rope without removing it from the sheath.
 
My Seal Pup Elite came with the kydex sheath and SOG sent me the new sheath later. I keep a SAK in the pouch on the new sheath. I like the knife a lot. I do prefer the plain edged model over the one you have, but that is me. It is my go to knife for hikes if I want to carry a fixed blade. You got an excellent price.

Both sheaths are belt sheaths or vertical vs horizontal.
 
Woohoo it came today, yes you're right it does come with horizontal carry straps as well as a Molle attachment. Here's a couple pics, you can see the horizontal carry straps and Molle attachment in the 2nd one.

I really like the feel of this knife.
