Hey guys/gals. New to the community! Name is Dave, 30yrs old father of 2.

I just recently purchased the Seal Pup with nylon sheath. I personally hate the sheath, it's rather bulky. I need to find a better alternative. Anyway, I'm on originally from Ohio, I grew up in Michigan, so I'm not to familiar with the Ohio knife laws. Can I legally carry the Seal pup?

Ohio does not have much state law on knives. Yes, you can carry it, but not concealed (if you are carrying it as a weapon). That said, we also do not have statewide preemption so local cities can have their own ordinances, and many do.

You can also get hung up on what is and is not concealed. I pocket carried a similarly sized KA-BAR fixed, but made sure that the handle was obviously visible, making it a technical open carry. The wording of Ohio law comes down to the perceived intent of the arresting officer. If you're carrying it, its legality is determined by how the officer feels you come across, and how he thinks you're going to use it. In a rural area, you could easily carry it. In an urban environment, however, it would probably look too scary, and the officer would probably assume the worst.

So I can carry any sized folding knife as long as its clipped to my pocket, and not just thrown in my pocket?
