SOG Seal Pup

Yesterday I was out testing some of my knives for a day hike knife. One of them was my little used SEAL Pup. It worked very well for chopping (surprisingly well for its size), making wood shavings, splitting, fine cutting. So the knife was great compared to a few others I did these tests on.
I do not like the nylon sheath it came with though; it's not the worst I've seen, but it's too loose. I may have to get the kydex one before I take it out with me. However, I'd really like to see a leather sheath for it, like the ones SOG has available for other knives, I'm a fan of leather sheaths over most synthetic sheaths. Anyone else think they should make a leather sheath for the SEAL Pup?

I have the seal pup elite and the nylon sheath is in my opinion the best I have seen. But the seal pup might be different. If you are looking for leather there are sheath makers on this forum that would make one for you.

from my experience (i sell sogs and have seen both sheats quite often), the kydex sheath is much more loose than the nylon. at least thats what ive seen.

Both knives take the same sheath. Maybe I just got a bad one, but mine doesn't hold the knife very tightly. If I have it on my belt and I sit down the blade comes out so that the edge is exposed, the button holds the knife in but I'm uncomfortable with the edge sticking out like that. What I think it really needs is an extra strap going diagonally across the handle to hold it still.

I own a seal pup, and I have made several custom leather sheaths for other people who own the same.

Did you see the one I made for ankle wear?

The NW Ranger leather sheath will hold the SEAL Pup. I think we still have some in stock. They are not listed on the SOG website right now but you can check with Customer Service and if there are any available they can help you out.

Leather sheaths are crap in my experiences. SOG Should start including their SEAL knives with kydex sheaths again.
