SOG Seal XR----What a BEAST!!! SOG has really upped their game with this one!!!

The SOG Seal XR is for real!!! This thing is incredible. I'm amazed that SOG has done a folding knife this well, and that's not something I've seen from SOG in a very, very long time. This knife locks like a vault, flips just like a champ, perfect centering, S35VN steel is as sharp as a razor, and there is zero blade play!!! One of the big issues I had with SOG folders was that they always had blade play...not this puppy! It is rock solid! This is quite a surprise from SOG. So, this begs the question: has the SOG Seal XR dethroned the Cold Steel AD10 as the best knife money can buy? I can't go that far, I'm sorry, but the Cold Steel AD10 remains the champ! Still, there is a lot to like about the SOG Seal XR and I see no cons with this knife. The only issue I could see with this knife is that because there is jimping literally all over the knife, this could get hard on the hands with extended use.

If the SOG Seal XR is any indication of where SOG is going with their folding knives, then they are definitely going in the right direction!

That is exactly right. I hammered SOG just a week ago for shipping me SOG Pillar that wasn't much sharper than a butter knife. There is no excuse for a $200+ knife not to have a nice factory edge on it. I always tell it like it is, fellas...

Knives with finger grooves usually don't sit well in my big paw. Also, the pocket clip looks a little big and chunky. I never understood big, thick pocket clips.

Hey man, I LOVE the Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter. I've got that knife, too. It is very underrated, a simply fantastic knife with unheard of ergonomics. It is so comfortable in the hand. I love that knife, so I'm with you on that one.

I don't work for GSM. If I did I wouldn't be anywhere near as worn out as I am right now. I'm exhausted. If GSM wants me, you gotta show me the money!

Look at the lines near the part where the texturing clears off for the fingers, the bottom... the broken one does not have the same detail on the lines.
